🏢 In The Beginning of Chronara AI

NVIDIA Inception Program Badge

James Tervit, the founder, had long been studying click routing, fast networks, and decentralised infrastructure. He participated in Nvidia’s Morpheus and Inception programmes, and contributed to Diode's DePIN tech as early as 2019—successfully streaming real-time video over blockchain and decentralised mesh networks. James was also an early tester of Starlink, exploring the use of low-earth-orbit internet for resilient decentralised connectivity in remote environments.

James built a controlled lab in the UK, where he rewrote Intel and Mellanox 100Gbps drivers, demonstrating terabit-level performance over encrypted networks using IPsec[1]. His work included implementing DPDK acceleration and building secure routing layers across Proxmox, XCP-ng[2], and open-source tools like IVRE[3].

He became a strong advocate of LLVM optimisations and Kademlia-based routing to enhance privacy and eliminate dependence on TCP/IP, DNS, and other legacy layers. His experience includes building systems using Intel architecture with AVX-512 and QuickAssist (QAT) for cryptographic acceleration, as well as Intel Memory Modules for real-time caching. These systems were developed in collaboration with Broadberry UK Ltd.

James often used Golang for building portable secure agents on embedded SoC like Espressif32, while achieving server-side performance with AVX and QAT. His familiarity with low-level networking is complemented by working with VPP (Vector Packet Processing) for kernel bypass and deterministic latency.

Frank, meanwhile, was immersed in the meme coin and NFT scene. Having worked on numerous projects, he frequently spotted red flags—rug pulls, poor execution, and broken promises. In November 2024, he and James met during the US presidential inauguration. While celebrating—and coincidentally turning a $300 meme coin bet into a $5,000 exit—they discussed creating something more meaningful. That conversation was the spark that led to Chronara AI.

James automated the metadata layer, integrating AI to ensure that each NFT was not only artistically unique, but also rich with embedded characteristics and functional traits—positioning the collection as both artwork and utility.
